Ink Packs Replacement
Warning: Dispose of used ink packs carefully. Do not take the used ink pack apart or try to refill it.
Warning: If ink gets on your skin, wash it thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. Seek medical advice if problems persist. If ink gets into your mouth, spit it out and see a doctor right away. Keep ink packs out of the reach of children.
Ink pack is low or expended?
Note which ink packs need to be replaced.
Unlock and open the front cover.
Press the ink pack tray until it clicks and pull it out.
Remove the used ink pack from the tray.
Shake the new ink pack 10 times and remove it from the packaging.
Caution: Do not touch the green chip on the ink pack.
Maintenance Box Replacement
Warning: Follow the on-screen instructions when you see a message on the LCD screen.
Did you remove the maintenance box or its cover only when replacing the maintenance box?
Did you avoid touching the green chip on the side of the maintenance box?
Did you ensure the maintenance box was not tilted after removing it?
Did you avoid touching the openings in the maintenance box?
Did you ensure the maintenance box was not dropped or subjected to strong shocks?
Did you ensure the maintenance box was correctly installed if the cover could not be replaced?
Did you store the maintenance box away from high or freezing temperatures?
Did you avoid reusing a maintenance box that has been removed and left uninstalled for a long period?
Paper Guide Cleaning
Warning: Ensure the printer is turned off and unplugged before starting the cleaning process.

Select the paper source to clean

Is the paper coming out clean?
If the paper is still smeared or scuffed, repeat these steps to clean the other paper sources.

Printer Cleaning
Caution: Do not use a hard brush, benzene, alcohol, or paint thinner to clean the product or you may damage it. Do not use oil or other lubricants inside the product or let water get inside it. Close the rear paper feed slot when you are not using it, to keep out dust.
Turn off the product.
Wait for the power light to turn off, then unplug the power cable.
Disconnect any connected cables.
Remove all the paper from the product.
Clean the outer case and control panel with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or chemical cleansers.
Clean any paper cassettes using a soft brush.
Clean the scanner glass and the glass area on the left with a soft, lint-free cloth (microfiber is recommended), moistened with a little glass cleaner.
Caution: Do not spray glass cleaner directly on the glass and do not press the glass surface with any force.
Print Head Alignment
Warning: Make sure there are no errors on the LCD screen.
Load a few sheets of plain paper in the product.
Press the home button, if necessary.
Select Settings > Maintenance > Ruled Line Alignment.
Follow the on-screen instructions to print an alignment sheet.
Note: Do not cancel printing while you are printing head alignment patterns.
Select the number representing the pattern with the least amount of separation or overlap.
Select the number representing the pattern with the least misaligned vertical line.
Continue following the on-screen instructions to finish the alignment.
