1 Monthly Platen and Borderless Pad Edges Cleaning
Turn off the product, wait for the LCD screen to turn off, and unplug the power cable from the electrical outlet.
Wait for one minute before continuing.
Open the front covers.
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to thoroughly remove dust and dirt from the platen. Wipe from the top to the bottom of the platen and do not touch the rollers or ink tubes.
If any paper particles have accumulated in the holes, use a pointed object such as a toothpick to push the material into the holes.
Use cotton swabs to remove any paper particles or dust around the outer edges of the borderless pads.
Close the front covers, plug in the power cord, and turn the product back on.
Sign off on the cleaning procedure
1 Monthly Printer Cleaning
Warning: Do not use volatile chemicals, such as alcohol or paint thinners, to clean the product.
All paper removed from the product?
Product turned off and unplugged from the electrical outlet?
Exterior of the product cleaned with a soft, clean cloth?
Note: For stubborn dirt, dampen the cloth with water mixed with a small amount of neutral detergent. Wring it out before using it to wipe the product's surface.
Product dried with a soft, lint-free cloth?
Sign off on the printer cleaning
6 Monthly Ink Cartridges Replacement
Warning: This procedure requires careful handling of ink cartridges. Ensure you have your replacement cartridges ready before you begin.
Is the printer turned on?
Open the ink cover of the printer.
Did you successfully remove the old ink cartridge?
Warning: Used ink cartridges may have ink around the ink supply port. Be careful not to get any ink on the surrounding area when removing the cartridges. Dispose of used cartridges carefully.
Upload a photo of the old cartridge for record keeping.
Remove the new cartridge from the package. Do not touch the areas on the ink cartridge shown in the manual.
Did you shake the new cartridge for 10 seconds?
Did you insert the new cartridge into the corresponding ink slot and push it in firmly?
Borderless Maintenance Boxes Replacement
Warning: Do not replace the borderless maintenance box while printing, otherwise ink may leak.
Note: The illustrations in this section may differ slightly from your product, but the steps are the same unless noted otherwise.
Check the LCD screen to determine which maintenance box needs to be replaced.
Caution: Do not touch the chip on the borderless maintenance box or you may prevent normal operation and printing.
Note: Do not reuse a borderless maintenance box you have removed from the printer and exposed to air for a long period of time. The box will not absorb any more ink.
Lift up the paper support lock lever, then move the paper support down to position A (the lowest position).
Extend the paper output flap as shown.
With the paper output flap extended, lift up the paper support lock lever, then move the paper support up to position C (the highest position).
Pull out the borderless maintenance box carefully without tilting it.
Cutter Replacement
Warning: Store the replacement cutter out of the reach of children. Do not remove the protective material from the new cutter until instructed to do so. Do not drop the cutter or knock it against anything or you may chip the blade.
Remove all paper from the printer.
Select the Menu icon.
Select Maintenance > Replace Auto cutter blade > Start.
The cutter moves to the replacement position.
Open the maintenance cover.
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen the screw holding the cutter in place and carefully remove the cutter. Place the cutter in a plastic bag and dispose of it properly.
Warning: Keep the cutter out of the reach of children. The blade is sharp and can cause injury.
Install the new cutter in the product with the protective material still attached.
