Safety Guards Inspection

Ensure all safety guards are installed
Verify all moving parts have guards to protect personnel
Check all setscrews and bolts for tightness during routine maintenance
Inspect installation for loose items or debris that could be drawn into the fan or dislodged by the fan discharge
Check the interior of the fan
Turn the wheel by hand to check for binding
V-Belt Drive Inspection
Pre-maintenance safety check
Ensure electrical supply is completely disconnected and locked out
V-Belt Drive Inspection
Check the V-belt drive for proper alignment and tension
Check belt tension with a tensioning gage
Adjust belt tension using the motor slide base
Check sheave alignment by placing a straightedge across the faces of the sheaves
Check setscrew and/or bushing bolt tightness

Ensure electrical supply is disconnected and locked out
Check all setscrews and bolts for tightness
Record torque values for setscrews and bolts
Recheck wheel, sheave, and coupling setscrews after a few minutes of operation
Recheck wheel, sheave, and coupling setscrews after eight hours of operation
Recheck wheel, sheave, and coupling setscrews after two weeks of operation
Refer to Table 1 for wheel setscrew torques and Table 2 for bearing setscrew torques
Shut down fan if there is a sudden increase in vibration

Ensure electrical supply is completely disconnected and locked out
Block the rotating assembly securely
Inspect the fan wheel for issues
Is there any wear or corrosion on the fan wheel?
Is there any build-up of material on the fan wheel?
Clean or replace the fan wheel as required
Ensure the fan hub is not removed or loosened from the fan wheel
6 Monthly Shaft Seal Lubrication

Check the type of shaft seal
Replace worn ceramic-felt shaft seals
Lubricate lip-type shaft seals with 'NEVER-SEEZ' or other anti-seize compound
Schedule lubrication in accordance with the bearing lubrication table on page 5
