Applies during long-term or outdoor storage only

Add additional grease to split housed bearings if necessary

Rotate the fan wheel and motor shaft by hand to redistribute grease

Use caution when purging to avoid seal damage

Rotate the shaft while slowly adding grease

Check for damaged or missing guards

Ensure all moving parts have guards installed

Check setscrews and bolts for tightness

Inspect for loose items or debris

Turn the wheel by hand to check for binding

Lubricate the coupling of direct-drive units and check for alignment

Refer to manufacturer's installation and maintenance supplement for lubrication details and alignment tolerances

Recheck alignment and gap after a short period of operation

Recheck the tightness of all fasteners in the coupling assembly

Check coupling alignment after permanent installation and prior to start up

Align the coupling to within the manufacturer's limits for parallel and angular misalignment

Is the coupling alignment within the manufacturer's specified limits?

Describe any issues found during the alignment check

Verify the following components

Has the belt tension been rechecked after several days of operation?

Ensure electrical supply is disconnected and locked out

Check the V-belt drive for proper alignment and tension

Measure belt tension with a tensioning gage

Adjust belt tension using the motor slide base

Replace worn belts as a matched set

Check sheave alignment with a straightedge

Verify setscrew and/or bushing bolt tightness
