Check the type of shaft seal
Replace worn ceramic-felt shaft seals
Lubricate lip-type shaft seals with 'NEVER-SEEZ' or other anti-seize compound
Schedule lubrication in accordance with the bearing lubrication table on page 5

6 Monthly Fan Bearing Lubrication
BEARINGS — Lubrication
Select the appropriate grease for lubrication
Are all guards in place if lubrication is performed while the fan is operating?
Add grease to the fan bearings while running the fan or rotating the shaft by hand
Was just enough grease added to cause a slight purging at the seals?
Refer to your motor manufacturer's installation and maintenance manual for motor bearing lubrication information and note any specific instructions
Ensure the environment is clean and within the temperature range of -20°F. to 120°F.
Is the fan mounted horizontally?
Split Pillowblock Bearing Maintenance
BEARINGS — Lubrication
Identify the bearing type
Remove the bearing cap
Clean out old grease
Repack the bearing with fresh grease
Pack the bearing fully and fill the housing reservoir to the bottom of the shaft on both sides of the bearing
Replace the bearing cap, ensuring caps are not mixed
Ensure no over lubrication of split pillowblock bearings
