Tank Cleaning
Preparation
Turn off the electrical disconnect switch
Flushing the Tank
Attach hose to outlet opening of drain valve and direct end to drain
Open the drain valve by turning the hand wheel to the left (counterclockwise)
Is water flowing from the opened drain valve?
If water does not flow, describe the sediment removal process followed
Did the water run clean after flushing?

Drain Valve Maintenance
DANGER: Burn Hazard
Ensure to keep clear of relief valve/drain valve discharge outlet.
Preparation
Turn off the electrical disconnect switch.
Attach hose to outlet opening of drain valve and direct end to drain.
Flushing Procedure
Open the drain valve by turning the hand wheel to the left (counterclockwise).
Is the water flowing clean?
If water does not flow from opened drain valve, describe the steps taken for sediment removal.
1 Yearly Temperature-Pressure Relief Valve Maintenance
Pre-maintenance Safety Check
Ensure no one is in front of or around the outlet of the temperature-pressure relief valve discharge line.
Ensure the water manually discharged will not cause any bodily injury or property damage.
Valve Operation and Inspection
Operate the pressure relief device to ensure proper operation.
Verify that the pressure relief device is not blocked.
Remove lime deposits from the pressure relief device.
Post-operation Check
Did the valve completely reset after operation?

Turn off electrical disconnect switch
Drain the heater following DRAINING instructions
Open front panel
Element Removal and Cleaning
Disconnect the element wiring
Unscrew each element
Remove the elements and gaskets from the openings
Place limed ends of heating elements into UN-LIME delimer and allow scale to dissolve
