Remove all wiring from the solenoid(s) being tested

Testing Solenoid Continuity

Check mark

Place the test leads across the terminals of the solenoid being tested and record the resistance

Does the meter indicate continuity?

Enter the resistance reading in ohms

Testing Solenoid Grounding

Place one test lead on one terminal of the solenoid being tested, and place the other lead on a suitable ground

Remove the transmission from the washer cabinet

Remove the cams, drive pulley, and brake assembly

Remove the screws securing the suspension housing to the lower bearing assembly

Bearing Removal

Slip the pipe and cap assembly over the drive shaft and up against the drive tube

Use a puller to remove the lower bearing assembly

Washer Spin Bearing Replacement

Disconnect the unit from the power source

Remove the bearing and seal housing and the tub support

Check mark

Remove the seal body from the housing cavity

Check mark

Press the spin bearing out of the cavity from the opposite side of the housing

Install the replacement bearing into the housing cavity

Check mark

Press against the outer race of the bearing to avoid damage

Check that terminals 1-2 are open and terminals 1-3 indicate continuity when the tub is filled as per the switch setting
