Motor Overload Protector Testing
Preparation
Unplug the power cord
Disconnect all wiring connections from the machine wiring harness to the motor starting switch

Washer Motor Testing
Preparation
Unplug the power cord
Disconnect all wiring connections from the machine wiring harness to the motor starting switch
Motor Testing
Test the following components
Connect the two spade connectors on one side of the test cord to terminals 1 and 4 on the starting switch
Connect the two connectors on the other side of the test cord to the starting switch terminals 2 and 3
Does the motor run in one direction but not reverse?
Is the motor running in its normal vertical position?
Washer Mixing Valve Testing
Preparation
Disconnect the unit from the power source
Remove all wiring from the solenoid(s) being tested
Testing Solenoid Continuity
Place the test leads across the terminals of the solenoid being tested and record the resistance
Does the meter indicate continuity?
Enter the resistance reading from the ohmmeter
Testing Solenoid Grounding
Place one test lead on one terminal of the solenoid being tested, and place the other lead on a suitable ground
Washer Lower Bearing Assembly Replacement
Preparation
Disconnect the unit from the power source
Disassembly
Remove the transmission from the washer cabinet
Remove the cams, drive pulley, and brake assembly
Remove the three screws securing the suspension housing to the lower bearing assembly
Bearing Removal
Slip the pipe and cap assembly over the drive shaft and up against the drive tube
Use a puller with at least a 3 1/2 inch spread to remove the lower bearing assembly
Washer Water Level Switch Testing
Preparation
Ensure the washer is unplugged from the power source
Access the water level switch as detailed in Section 3 under Control Panel Disassembly
Testing with Ohmmeter
Measure continuity across terminals 1-2 with the tub empty
Is there continuity across terminals 1-2 with the tub empty?
Measure continuity across terminals 1-2 with the tub filled to the switch setting
Are terminals 1-2 open when the tub is filled to the switch setting?
Measure continuity across terminals 1-3 with the tub filled to the switch setting
