Disconnect the unit from the power source

Remove the two screws securing the safety switch assembly to the underside of the top

Place test leads across the terminals at each end of switch

Is continuity indicated when the switch contacts are open?

Is continuity indicated when the switch button is depressed?

Disconnect the unit from the power source

Remove the bearing and seal housing and the tub support

Remove the seal body from the housing cavity

Press the spin bearing out of the cavity from the opposite side of the housing

Install the replacement bearing into the housing cavity

Check that the bearing is properly seated

Ensure there is no damage to the bearing shield

Reassemble the washer components

Disconnect all wiring connections from the machine wiring harness to the motor starting switch

Read from the P to P terminals at the motor switch

Does the overload protector open repeatedly?

Troubleshooting if Overload Protector Opens Repeatedly

Operate the washer in the agitation cycle with hot water for about two (2) minutes.

Operate the washer in a spin cycle for about two (2) minutes.

Place a 3 1/2 pound weight in the washer basket.

Start the machine in the spin cycle.

Does the basket reach full spin with the weight?

Describe any issues observed during the initial spin efficiency test.

Disconnect all wiring connections from the machine wiring harness to the motor starting switch

Connect a continuity tester between terminal 4 and the unmarked single terminal on the opposite side

Does the tester indicate a closed circuit?

Depress the switch button and check if the tester indicates an open circuit

Check continuity between terminals 5 and 3
