Manitowoc Ice Machine SD1002A

Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles (and/or face shield) when handling Ice Machine Cleaner or Sanitizer.

Ensure Manitowoc approved Ice Machine Cleaner/Descaler and Sanitizer are used.

Remove front door and top cover for access.

Set the toggle switch to the OFF position after ice falls from the evaporator or allow ice to melt off.

Remove all ice from the bin/dispenser.

Place the toggle switch in the CLEAN position and wait for water to flow over the evaporator.

Read and understand all labels printed on Manitowoc Cleaner and Sanitizer bottles

Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles (and/or face shield)

Disassemble the ice machine and bin for cleaning and sanitizing

Use Manitowoc Ice Machine Cleaner (part number 94-0546-3) to descale the machine

Use Manitowoc Sanitizer (part number 94-0565-3) to sanitize the machine

Ensure that Cleaner/Descaler and Sanitizer solutions are not mixed

Disconnect electric power to the ice machine head section

Disconnect electric power to the remote condensing unit at the electric service switches

Condenser Inspection and Cleaning

Shine a flashlight through the condenser to check for dirt between the fins

Is there dirt between the fins?

Does dirt still remain after cleaning?

Call a service agent to clean the condenser if dirt remains

Remove the evaporator tray or water diverter

Remove the water distribution tube

Multiple Evaporator Ice Machines

Move the ICE/OFF/CLEAN switch to OFF

Water Line Disconnection and Draining

Disconnect and drain the incoming ice-making water line at the rear of the ice machine

Wait one minute for the water inlet valve to open
