Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles (and/or face shield) when handling Ice Machine Cleaner or Sanitizer.

Ensure Manitowoc approved Ice Machine Cleaner/Descaler and Sanitizer are used.

Read and understand all labels printed on bottles before use.

Remove front door and top cover for access.

Set the toggle switch to the OFF position after ice falls from the evaporator or allow ice to melt off.

Remove all ice from the bin/dispenser.

Is the ice machine on Safety Shutdown?

Does the water have a high concentration of minerals?

Has the ice machine been on a regular maintenance schedule?

Turn off the ice machine and unplug it from the power source.

Remove all ice from the machine.

Prepare a cleaning solution as per the manufacturer's instructions.

Clean the interior surfaces of the ice machine with the cleaning solution.

Remove the evaporator tray or water diverter

Remove the water distribution tube

Detailed Descaling and Sanitizing Procedure

Set the toggle switch to the OFF position after ice falls from the evaporator or allow ice to melt off the evaporator.

Remove top cover for access to descaling and sanitizing solutions.

Place the toggle switch in the CLEAN position and wait for water to flow over the evaporator.

Add the proper amount of ice machine cleaner based on model

Wait until the clean cycle is complete and disconnect power to the ice machine.

Ensure the ice machine is turned off

Disconnect the ice machine from the power supply

Disassemble the following components

Descale the ice machine components

Sanitize the ice machine components
