Air Filter Replacement

Do not attempt to wash or clean the elements, they must only be renewed.

A new inner element must be installed at least every other time the outer element is changed. As a reminder, mark the inner element with marker pen each time the outer element is changed.

1. Make the machine safe. Refer to (PIL 01-03).

2. Get access to the engine.

Check mark

3. Depress the clips and lift off the cover.

Check mark

4. Remove the outer element. Take care not to tap or knock the element.

Check mark

5. If the inner element is to be changed, lift up pulls and remove the inner element.

Install:

Crankcase Ventilation Filter Replacement

Check mark

Make the machine safe. Refer to (PIL 01-03).

Check mark

Get access to the engine. Refer to (PIL 06-06).

Check mark

Rotate the filter cover anti-clockwise and remove.

Check mark

Lift out the filter element and discard it.

Check mark

Clean the inside of the filter housing. Remove all oil and sludge contamination.

Check mark

Make sure that the oil drain in the bottom of the filter housing is not blocked with sludge.

Check mark

Install a new filter element. Make sure that the correct type of filter element is installed.

Check mark

Align the arrows on both parts to install the filter cover.

Check mark

Sign off on the filter replacement

Drive Belt Replacement

Warning: Make sure the machine is safe before starting the procedure. Refer to (PIL 01-03).

Stop the engine and let it cool down.

Check mark

Did you use a socket of the specified size (16mm) to locate on to the hexagon spigot nut?

Check mark

Did you carefully rotate the tensioner against the spring force in the direction shown without using excessive force?

Check mark

Did you keep holding the tensioner against the spring force and lift the belt off the drive tensioner pulley?

Check mark

Did you slowly release the spring force by rotating the tensioner unit in the opposite direction?

Check mark

The installation procedure is the opposite of the removal procedure.

Before you install the new belt, did you check that the tensioner roller and the fan pulley rotate smoothly and that there is no play in the bearings?

Sign off on the drive belt replacement

Special Tools Replacement

CAUTION! Oil will gush from the hole when the drain plug is removed. Keep to one side when you remove the plug.

Drain plug and 'O' ring removed and cleaned

Tighten the plug to the correct torque value

Filter housing drain plug loosened and removed

Oil fully drained from filter housing

Filter canister unscrewed

Seal face of the filter head cleaned

Seal on the new filter canister smeared with clean engine oil
