Ensure no foreign objects are in the blower air chamber or piping

Verify outdoor intake is free from dirt and protected by a strong screen or grille

Recheck blower leveling, drive alignment, and tightness of all mounting bolts

Adjust belt tension if belt drive is used

Turn drive shaft by hand to ensure impellers rotate freely

Ensure oil levels in the main oil sumps are correct

Verify power availability and functionality of electrical overload devices for electric motor

Check ambient temperature and discharge temperature

Determine oil viscosity grade based on temperature

Verify oil temperature increase and adjust service interval

Use Roots synthetic oil of correct viscosity

Remove the breather plug (25) and the oil overflow plug (21)

Fill the reservoir up to the overflow hole

Ensure the reservoir is not overfilled

Check shaft and coupling alignment carefully and make any necessary corrections

Measure the total indicator reading for offset alignment of the shafts

Measure deviation from parallel of the inside coupling faces

Ensure sufficient gap between the coupling halves and the element to prevent thrust loading the blower bearings

Describe any corrections made to the alignment

Verify conditions for oil service intervals

Use Roots synthetic oil of correct viscosity per Table 2

Remove the oil overflow plug (21)

Fill the reservoir up to the overflow hole

Ensure the reservoir is not overfilled

Check the condition of the oil seals

Wipe off periodically leaked oil from surfaces

Are the piston ring seals excessively worn?

Replace piston ring seals if excessively worn
