Check oil levels in the oil sumps

Is the blower operating in a very dusty location?

Is the oil level within the acceptable range when the blower is idle?

Describe any observed oil leaks

Measure the temperature at the bottom of the gear housing

Is the temperature at the bottom of the gear housing unusually high?

Check for signs of wear and damage

Is there any sign of impeller knocking?

Inspect the lubrication of timing gear

Install a substantial screen of 16 mesh backed with hardware cloth at or near inlet connections

Make provisions to clean the screen of collected debris after a few hours of operation

Remove the screen when its usefulness has ended

Stop the blower at the first opportunity to clean the temporary inlet protective screen

Check if an appreciable amount of debris has collected on the screen

Remove the screen if no appreciable amount of debris has collected

Lubrication — For Units with grease lubricated drive end

Verify the following conditions

Use specified NLGI #2 premium grade aluminium complex grease, Roots P/N T20019002

Ensure no lithium based grease is used

Technical supplement for URAI-G Gas blowers — Lubrication

Check hydraulic pressure relief fittings for proper venting

Ensure restriction plug and metering orifice are in place

Use a manual pressure gun to lubricate drive end bearing housing

Use specified NLGI #2 premium grade aluminum complex grease, Roots P/N T20019002

Measure vibration at bearing locations

Is all pass vibration 0.45 in/sec-pk or less?

Is all pass vibration greater than 0.45 but 1.0 or less AND discrete frequency 0.45 or less at any frequency?

Is all pass vibration greater than 0.45 but 1.0 or less AND discrete frequency greater than 0.45 at any frequency?

Is all pass vibration greater than 1.0 AND discrete frequency less than 1.0?

Is all pass vibration greater than 1.0 AND discrete frequency greater than 1.0?
