Lubrication — For Units with grease lubricated drive end

Check applicable speed and operating hours

Use specified NLGI #2 premium grade aluminium complex grease, Roots P/N T20019002

Ensure no lithium based grease is used

Check hydraulic pressure relief fittings for venting excess grease

Ensure restriction plug and metering orifice are in place

Use a manual pressure gun to slowly force new lubricant into each drive end bearing housing

Ensure traces of clean grease come out of the relief fitting

Lubrication — For Units with grease lubricated drive end

Verify the following conditions

Use specified NLGI #2 premium grade aluminium complex grease, Roots P/N T20019002

Ensure no lithium based grease is used

Note any unusual circumstances or temperature variations affecting lubrication frequency

Use specified NLGI #2 premium grade aluminum complex grease, Roots P/N T20019002 for URAI-G blower

Ensure hydraulic pressure relief fittings are in place

Check restriction plug and metering orifice for proper function

Coat internals of cylinder, gearbox, and drive end bearing reservoir with Nox-Rust VCI-10 or equivalent

Repeat coating if conditions require

Paint shaft extension, inlet and discharge flanges, and all other exposed surfaces with Nox-Rust X-110 or equivalent

Seal inlet, discharge, and vent openings

Storage and Vibration Protection

Ensure unit is not set in place, piped to the system, and left idle for extended periods

Protect units from excessive vibration during storage

Rotate shaft three or four revolutions every two weeks

Ensure care is used when opening the head plate seal vent chamber plugs (43)

Is the system under pressure or vacuum?

Check for gas leakage through the mechanical seals

Verify if gas leakage is escaping through the gear box vent or grease release fittings

Is the gas leakage undesirable?

Purge each seal chamber with an inert gas if leakage is undesirable

Ensure purge gas pressure is maintained one PSI above the discharge gas pressure

Check for gear end oil and drive end grease leakage into the gas stream

Slowly force new lubricant into each drive end bearing housing until traces of clean grease come out of the relief fitting
