Lubrication — For Units with grease lubricated drive end

Verify the following conditions

Use specified NLGI #2 premium grade aluminium complex grease, Roots P/N T20019002

Ensure no lithium based grease is used

Confirm compatibility of lubricants with the blower type

Check hydraulic pressure relief fittings for proper venting

Inspect restriction plug and metering orifice for proper function

Use a manual pressure gun to lubricate drive end bearing housing until clean grease appears

Lubrication — How to properly determine the oil service intervals

Record the ambient temperature surrounding the blower and drive

Record the discharge temperature of the blower

Calculate the estimated oil temperature by multiplying the discharge temperature by 0.80

Verify conditions for oil change

Remove the breather plug (25) and the oil overflow plug (21)

Fill the reservoir up to the overflow hole

Verify outdoor intake is free from dirt and protected by a strong screen or grille

Recheck blower leveling, drive alignment, and tightness of all mounting bolts

Adjust belt tension if belt drive is used

Turn drive shaft by hand to ensure impellers rotate freely

Ensure oil levels in the main oil sumps are correct

Is power available and electrical overload devices installed and workable for electric motor?

Ensure care is used when opening the head plate seal vent chamber plugs (43)

Is the system under pressure or vacuum?

Check for gas leakage through mechanical seals

Purge each seal chamber with an inert gas if leakage is undesirable

Ensure purge gas pressure is maintained one PSI above the discharge gas pressure

Check for leakage into the gas stream

Are the gases compatible with the blower materials?
