3000 Hourly Gear End Oil Change
Lubrication — How to properly determine the oil service intervals
Check ambient temperature and discharge temperature
Determine oil viscosity grade based on temperature
Verify oil temperature does not exceed 195°F (90°C)
Use Roots synthetic oil of correct viscosity per Table 2
Gearbox Filling Procedure
Remove the breather plug (25) and the oil overflow plug (21)
Fill the reservoir up to the overflow hole
Ensure the reservoir is not overfilled
3 Weekly Drive End Bearing Lubrication
Lubrication — For Units with grease lubricated drive end
Verify the following conditions
Use specified NLGI #2 premium grade aluminium complex grease, Roots P/N T20019002
Ensure no lithium based grease is used
Technical supplement for URAI-G Gas blowers — Lubrication
Check hydraulic pressure relief fittings for proper venting
Ensure restriction plug and metering orifice are in place
Use a manual pressure gun to slowly force new lubricant into each drive end bearing housing
Confirm traces of clean grease come out of the relief fitting
1500 Hourly Gear End Oil Change
Lubrication — How to properly determine the oil service intervals
Determine the oil service intervals based on conditions
Oil Specification and Filling
Select the correct oil viscosity grade based on conditions
Use Roots synthetic oil of correct viscosity per Table 2
Remove the breather plug (25) and the oil overflow plug (21)
Fill the reservoir up to the overflow hole
Ensure the reservoir is not overfilled
Place the breather and the overflow plug back into their respective holes
Belt Drive Check
Installation — Belt Driven units
Adjust belt tension according to manufacturer's instructions
Ensure tension prevents slippage under load
Check for excessive tightening to avoid bearing or shaft issues
Periodically check belt tension
Inspect belts for fraying or cracks
Rotate drive shaft by hand after piping completion and before applying power
Check for uniform freedom of drive shaft movement
Investigate issues if drive shaft does not move freely
Blower Periodic Operational Inspection
Inspection & maintenance
Check lubricant levels in the gearbox and bearing reservoirs weekly
Follow manufacturer's instructions for driver lubrication practices
Check and grease the coupling if direct connected to the blower each time blower oil is changed
Check belt tension periodically and inspect for frayed or cracked belts in a belted drive system
Observe oil levels at reasonable intervals during the final run
Did excessive noise or local heating develop during operation?
Did pressure rise or temperature rise across the blower exceed the specified limit?
Make periodic checks during the first few days to ensure conditions remain steady or acceptable
