Insert the test rod into the radial movement bearing and align the surface to the microscope at a right angle.

Set the illumination intensity to 50%.

Set the magnification in the microscope to max.

Set the eyepieces so that the test rod is in sharp focus by turning the ocular from the (+) to the (-) side.

Is the structure of the test rod shown in sharp focus for all magnifications?

Ensure the device is turned off and unplugged

Gather ready-for-use disposable 70% ethanol disinfectant wipes or surface-friendly disinfectants such as Kohrsolin FF

Ensure cloths are not dripping and wring out any soaked cloths before use

Wipe down the Haag-Streit slit lamps and accessories with disinfectant wipes

Ensure no liquid penetrates the device during cleaning

Comply with the stipulated exposure time for the disinfectant used

Clean optical surfaces with a very soft cloth after disinfection
