Ensure waste oil is not drained into a waterway or thrown on the ground.

Dispose of waste oil through a specialist or TCM dealer.

Is the engine oil at a safe temperature to change?

Start the engine and let it run at low rpm to warm it up.

Park the truck on a level surface.

Pull the parking brake to the full.

Shut off the engine and remove the starter key.

Check air cleaner element for contamination and clean if needed

Retighten cylinder head bolts (first time only)

Change engine oil (at initial 50 hrs)

Change engine oil filter (first time only)

Check fuel filter for clogging (Gas powered)

Check for the entrance of air into braking piping

Check for damage, leaks or interference

Check for loose connections or clamp

Check brake drum for loose installation

Measure the force required to operate the parking brake lever using a spring scale

Is the operating force within the standard range of 200 – 250 N (20 – 25 kgf) (40" – 50 lbf)?

Is adjustment needed based on the force measurement?

Adjust the operating force of the lever by turning the adjustment bolt with a screwdriver

Advise to adjust the cable after the day’s work or each shift for new trucks

Retighten engine cylinder head bolts (C240 engine)

Measure engine cylinder compression pressure

Check proper operation of governor (maximum rpm under no-load condition)

Change fuel filter (gas-powered trucks)

Check injection timing (diesel-powered trucks)

Lubricate clutch retainer bearing
