Ensure the engine has cooled down sufficiently before starting the procedure.

Place an oil receiving pan or cloth to catch any spilled oil.

Use a filter wrench to loosen and remove the filter cartridge.

New Filter Cartridge Installation

Wipe clean the cylinder block in the cartridge mounting area.

Apply a thin coat of engine oil on the “O”-ring of the new filter cartridge.

Disengage the air cleaner case clip

Check the element for the following issues

Check the rubber seal for the following issues

Wear safety glasses when using compressed air

Change master cylinder and release cylinder fluid

Check clutch oil level in tank (trucks with optional oil clutch)

Torque Converter Type Transmission Maintenance

Change inline filter for torque converter

Retighten cylinder head bolts (C240)

Check cylinder compression pressure

Check maximum speed under unloaded condition

Change fuel filter element (Gas powered)

Get tools and jack necessary for replacing tires

Park the truck on a level, hard surface and shut down the engine

Apply the parking brake and block the wheel opposite the one you are going to repair

Put a jack under the truck frame

Remove the valve core to release the air pressure from the tire completely

Remove air from the tire before loosening or removing components

Jack up the truck to an extent that the tire still remains on the ground
