TD27-II, QD32, C240 Sedimenter Maintenance

Turn the drain cock (plug) 4 or 5 turns to loosen it

Pump the priming pump a few times to drain water from inside the sedimenter

Tighten the drain cock (plug) securely

Pump the priming pump a few more times to ensure no fuel leak from the drain cock (plug)

Wipe away any spilt fuel from areas around the sedimenter

Start the engine and ensure the sedimenter warning light is off

Check crankcase air breather for contamination and clean, if needed

Check carburetor for loose linkage and contamination

Retighten cylinder head bolts (C240)

Check cylinder compression pressure

Check maximum speed under unloaded condition

Change fuel filter element (Gas powered)

Ensure waste oil is not drained into a waterway or thrown on the ground

Ensure engine oil is not changed immediately after engine shutdown

Preparation Before Changing Engine Oil

Start the engine and let it run at low rpm to warm it up when cold

Park the truck on a level surface

Pull the parking brake to the full; Shut off the engine and remove the starter key

Inspect tires for cracks or damage

Inspect tires for debris, stones, or foreign matter in tread

Check hub, rim mounting bolt, and nut for looseness

Inspect hub, rim mounting bolt, and nut for damage
