Ensure the boiler has been operating for a sufficient period to assure it is warm.

Verify the availability of a combustion gas analyzer.

Measure the O2 levels in the flue gas at low fire.

Measure the O2 levels in the flue gas at high fire.

Are the O2 readings between 3% to 4% at high fire?

Adjust the air/fuel ratios using the combustion gas analyzer.

Shut off the burner; position the switch to 'Off'.

Shut off all electric power to the burner.

Disconnect the fuel lines from the drawer assembly access cover.

Remove the drawer assembly access cover bolts after noting their positions.

Pull the drawer partially out of the housing and disconnect the ignition cables from the electrodes.

Pull the drawer assembly completely out of the housing.

Gauges, Monitors, and Indicators

Make visual inspection of the following

Instrument and Equipment Settings

Make visual check against recommended specifications

Low Water, Fuel Cutoff, and Alarms

Refer to instructions and note any discrepancies

Ensure the boiler has operated for a sufficient period to assure a warm boiler.

Set the butterfly gas valve to control the rate of flow.

Determine the actual gas flow from a meter reading at high-fire.

Is the actual flow rate close to the required input with the butterfly valve open and regulated gas pressure set?

If corrections are necessary, describe the adjustments made to the gas pressure regulator.

Take a flue gas analysis reading when proper gas flow is obtained.

Ensure independent actuators for fuel, air, and FGR are coordinated

Is the combustion optimized throughout the firing range?
