Check proper operation of the motorized gas valve

Clean outer parts of the valve(s), especially the stem

Is there oil noticed around the operator base or any leakage?

Repair the valve if oil leakage is detected

Replace the operator portion if actuator is sluggish or fails to operate

Disassemble solenoid valve carefully to avoid damage to internal parts

Is there a loud buzzing or chattering noise from the solenoid valve?

Shut off fuel supply and return line valves

Collect sediment from the bottom of the canister

Remove the cover and withdraw the strainer element

Choose the type of strainer element

Dispose of replaceable strainer elements properly

Ensure the modulating motor can complete its full travel range

Verify there are no restrictions that could damage the motor or linkage

Set the modulating motor to low-fire position

Adjust lever and rod with motor in low-fire position

Record combustion gas analysis results to verify air to fuel ratio

Ensure rod is as parallel as possible with the lever for optimal movement

Adjust angles of driven levers on the jackshaft to vary rate of change

Disconnect and remove any electrical conduit, boxes, and brackets attached to the side outer casing.

Match mark the outer panels for repositioning.

Remove screws from frame above each outer panel, if installed.

Slide center panel up, swing bottom away from boiler, slide down from upper frame, and set aside.

Slide end panels towards center until free from corner frame and remove.

Are there only two outer panels (Models 150 through 350)?

If yes, slide one end panel further into the corner frame to allow the other panel to slide free.

Record the current fan pressure

Manually adjust the fan pressure until the switch opens

Record the current gas pressure

Manually adjust the gas pressure until the switch opens

Scanner and Diffuser Maintenance

Inspect the scanner for soot buildup

Inspect the diffuser for soot buildup
