Schedule inspection during normal boiler downtime

Order replacement spare parts in advance if not on hand

Ensure Cleaver-Brooks genuine parts are available

Inspect waterside surfaces of the pressure vessel

Inspect fireside surfaces of the pressure vessel

Perform detailed check of all boiler components

Burner Mounting Flange Inspection

Check tightness of burner mounting flange

Check tightness of burner drawer

Check tightness of handhole plates on upper drum

Check tightness of handhole plates on lower drum

Sight Glass Inspection (Steam Only)

Check for leaks around sight glass packing nuts

Disconnect and remove any electrical conduit, boxes, and brackets attached to the side outer casing.

Match mark the outer panels for repositioning.

Remove screw from frame above each outer panel, if installed.

Remove the center panel by sliding it up, swinging the bottom away from the boiler, and then sliding it down from the upper frame.

Remove the end panels by sliding them towards the center until free from the corner frame.

Are there obstructions preventing panel removal?

If obstructions are present, unscrew the upper frame from the roof and side frames and remove it.

Check proper operation of the motorized gas valve

Clean outer parts of the valve(s), especially the stem

Inspect valve stem for nicks, scores, or damage

Check for oil around the operator base or leakage

Verify actuator operation and oil level

Disassemble solenoid valve carefully to avoid damage

Inspect for foreign matter between valve seat and seat disc

Open the manual gas shutoff cocks

Gas Pressure Check and Adjustment

Enter the gas pressure at the inlet of the regulator

Enter the pressure downstream of the regulator

Are the pressures in accordance with the regulator specifications?

Adjust the regulator if necessary and describe the adjustments made

Burner Operation and O2 Level Adjustment

Turn the burner switch to the 'ON' position
