Pilot / Ignition Electrode Maintenance
Preparation
Ensure the fuel supply is shut off before starting maintenance.
Pilot Removal
Close the gas pilot cock.
Disconnect the pilot gas supply line.
Remove the screws on the pilot access plate.
Disconnect the high voltage ignition cable by pulling it straight back, away from the pilot assembly.
Slide the pilot gun assembly back away from the flame side of the burner.
Retract the pilot assembly through the access hole after clearing the burner head bracket.
Cam Trim Adjustment
Preparation
Ensure low and high-fire adjustments are complete
Prepare a 3/32” hex key, cut to approximately 3/8” for low-fire position adjustment
Cam Adjustment
Adjust the metering cam using the 14 adjusting screws
Record flue gas readings at various points of the cam profile
Post-Adjustment
Was the automatic modulating cycle operated to assure satisfactory results?
Tighten the locking setscrews

Ensure the pilot gas regulator is accessible
Verify that the flame safeguard system information is available
Flame Size Adjustment
Measure the flame signal using a microamp or voltage reading
Is the flame size sufficient to ignite the main flame and visible to the flame detector?
Is the flame size not overly large to avoid sooting or carbon buildup?
