1 Monthly Pump Maintenance

Periodically start the pump for about five minutes (about once a month) to prevent sediment formation.
Did you run the pump for at least 5-10 minutes this month?
Running the pump after a long period of stop
Review the entire section 'Starting and stopping' and the section 'Maintenance' before restarting the pump.
Follow these suggestions based on the period of inactivity
Fill the pump with inert gas when draining if electrically charged liquids were used.
Wait at least one hour before removing the pump from the plant to allow electrostatic charges to dissipate.

Is the motor turning in the correct direction (clockwise)?
Does the motor rotate freely by hand?

Is the flushing liquid pressure in compliance with the seal manual?
Is the oil level adequate for pumps with oil lubricated bearing bracket?
