Initial Chiller Startup Check
5.1 Preparation
Inspect unit for installation damage
Check refrigerant charge and inspect for leaks
Check oil system charge and oil level
Verify single point of electrical isolation
Inspect control panel for foreign materials and cleanliness
Check correct connection of customer power cables
Verify proper earthing of unit and tightness of internal earth connections
Verify site voltage supply corresponds to unit requirement
1 Daily Chiller Operation Check
7.1.2 Daily
Check graphic control centre (OptiView) displays.
Check for any signs of dirty or fouled condenser tubes.
Compressor Operation Checks
Is the compressor in operation?
Enter the bearing oil pressure on the SYSTEM Screen.
Enter the oil level in the oil reservoir.
Is the operating oil level between the upper and lower sight glasses?
Drain or add oil if necessary.
3 Monthly Chliller Maintenance
7.1.4 Every 3 Months
Perform chemical analysis of oil
Leak test the unit
Were any leaks found during the test?
Repair any leaks found immediately
7.4.2 Leak Testing
Charge the system
Perform leak test with R134a compatible leak detector
Are all joints tight?
1 Yearly Chiller Maintenance
7.1.6 Annually (more often if necessary)
Inspect and service electrical components as necessary
Perform chemical analysis of system
7.8 Electrical Controls
Inspect all electrical controls for obvious malfunctions
Ensure factory settings of controls (operation and safety) are unchanged
Chiller Refrigerant Maintenance
7.4.4 Refrigerant Charging
Remove refrigerant charge when opening any part of the refrigerant system for repairs.
Isolate refrigerant in the following components if equipped with optional valves
Add only refrigerant vapour to the system until pressure is above freezing point of evaporator liquid.
Enter the system pressure after adding refrigerant vapour.
Ensure the system pressure is above 58.9 kPa for R134a to prevent freezing.
Prevent moisture laden air from entering the system during charging.
Make up a suitable charging connection from new copper tubing.
Purge the charging connection each time a new container of refrigerant is connected.
