1 Weekly Refrigerant Charge Check

Check the refrigerant charge (See Refrigerant Charge Checking)
7.4.1 Checking The Refrigerant Charge
Record the refrigerant level after initial charging
Is the refrigerant level visible in the sight glass?
Ensure the system is shut down before checking and trimming the refrigerant charge
Has the pressure and temperature equalised between the condenser and evaporator?
Time elapsed since compressor and water pumps were stopped (in hours)
1 Daily Chiller Operation Check

Check graphic control centre (OptiView) displays.
Check for any signs of dirty or fouled condenser tubes.
Compressor Operation Checks
Is the compressor in operation?
Enter the bearing oil pressure on the SYSTEM Screen.
Check the oil level in the oil reservoir.
Drain or add oil if necessary.
System Screen Checks
3 Monthly Chliller Maintenance

Perform chemical analysis of oil
Leak test the unit
Were any leaks found?
Were leaks repaired immediately?
7.4.2 Leak Testing
Leak test the system with a R134a compatible leak detector
Are all joints tight?
Were any leaks indicated?
Chiller Refrigerant Maintenance
7.4.4 Refrigerant Charging
Ensure all necessary precautions are taken before opening the refrigerant system
Is the refrigerant system evacuated before charging?
Enter the system pressure before charging
Is the system pressure above 58.9 kPa to prevent freezing of evaporator liquid?
Add refrigerant vapour to the system until the pressure is above freezing point
Ensure no moisture laden air enters the system during charging
Make up a suitable charging connection from new copper tubing
Purge the charging connection each time a new container of refrigerant is connected

5.1 Preparation
Inspect unit for installation damage
Check refrigerant charge and inspect for leaks
Check oil system charge and oil level
Verify single point of electrical isolation
Check control panel for foreign materials and cleanliness
Verify correct connection of customer power cables
Verify proper earthing of unit and tightness of internal connections
Verify site voltage supply corresponds to unit requirement
