Initial Chiller Startup Check
5.1 Preparation
Inspect unit for installation damage
Check refrigerant charge and inspect for leaks
Check oil system charge and oil level
Verify single point of electrical isolation
Check control panel for foreign materials and cleanliness
Verify correct connection of customer power cables
Verify proper earthing of unit and tightness of internal connections
Verify site voltage supply corresponds to unit requirement
6 Monthly Chiller Maintenance
7.1.5 Every 6 Months (or more often as required)
Change and inspect compressor oil filter element
Check controls and safety cutouts
7.6 Compressor
Is the unit shutting down on High Oil Temperature or Low Oil Pressure?
Change the oil filter element if necessary
Examine the oil filter element for aluminum particles and describe findings
Are aluminum particles continuing to accumulate after a new filter is installed?
Contact York Service Agent if aluminum particles continue to accumulate and describe the situation
1 Weekly Refrigerant Charge Check

Record the refrigerant level after initial charging
Is the refrigerant level visible in the sight glass?
Ensure the system is shut down before checking and trimming the refrigerant charge
Verify that the pressure and temperature have equalised between the condenser and evaporator (4 hours or more after stopping the compressor and water pumps)
Chiller Refrigerant Maintenance
7.4.4 Refrigerant Charging
Remove refrigerant charge when opening any part of the refrigerant system for repairs.
Isolate refrigerant in the following components if equipped with optional valves
Add only refrigerant vapour to the system until pressure is above freezing point of evaporator liquid.
Ensure system pressure is above 58.9 kPa for R134a at sea level.
Prevent moisture laden air from entering the system during charging.
Make up a suitable charging connection from new copper tubing.
Purge the charging connection each time a new container of refrigerant is connected.
Change containers quickly to minimise refrigerant loss.
3 Monthly Chliller Maintenance
7.1.4 Every 3 Months
Perform chemical analysis of oil
Leak test the unit
Were any leaks found during the test?
Describe the repairs made for any leaks found
7.4.2 Leak Testing
