Shaft Grounding Brush Monitoring

Monitor the condition of the shaft grounding brush

Has the brush reached the end of its useful life?

Replace the brush with another of the same specification if necessary

Check for internal grounding brush label

Is the internal grounding brush checked during bearing or internal motor part maintenance?

Ensure proper storage conditions for bearings with oil mist lubrication systems

Manually rotate the shaft once a week

Have the motors with open bearings been stored for more than six months?

Relubricate bearings with the grease amount indicated on the nameplate before operation

Is the heating resistor on to prevent water condensation inside the motor?

Rotate the motor shaft manually

Ensure motors are protected from accidental starts

Run the motor unloaded to check rotation direction

Ensure rotor is locked before performing operations on terminals

Check the proper functioning of accessories installed on the motor

Ensure free airflow around the motor

Is the motor operating within normal parameters?

Describe any issues found during inspection
