Shaft Grounding Brush Inspection

Check the condition of the shaft grounding brush

Is the brush at the end of its useful life?

Replace the brush with one of the same specification if necessary

Verify if the motor has an internal grounding brush (check for label)

Inspect the internal grounding brush during bearing or internal motor part maintenance

Ensure motors are protected from accidental starts

Check motor's rotation direction by running it unloaded before coupling to the load

Ensure rotor is locked before performing operations on the terminals

Check the proper functioning of motor accessories before operation

Verify the storage area is free of vibrations, gases, and corrosive agents

Ensure the motor shaft is left in a different position after rotation
