Remove the bottom cover to access the clutch

Operate the clutch by moving the clutch lever from FREE to DRIVE

Observe and describe the 'over-center' action disengaging the clutch

Place the clutch in DRIVE position

Wipe off all parts of the machine, rack, torch and all track surfaces.

Turn the clutch control lever to the FREE position.

Can the machine be easily pushed along the track?

Set the FWD-OFF-REV toggle switch to the OFF position.

Plug the power cord into a 115 V, 60 Hz power outlet.

Unplug the power cord before starting maintenance

Short out the capacitor using an insulated screwdriver

Redistribute the grease on the gear train

Redistribute the grease in the groove of the clutch dog

Purchase the motor assembly from Victor

Remove the inner case from the outer case

Remove the rubber boot from the capacitor and disconnect the two red leads

Disconnect motor wires leading to the switch

Remove the four socket head cap screws that mount the motor plate to the inner case

Loosen the motor disk set screw, if equipped

Remove the bottom cover from the machine

Short out the capacitor by touching an insulated screwdriver to the capacitor terminals

Disconnect the power line leads and ground wire

Remove the power cord by loosening the power cord holder
