Pump Maintenance
Repair
Enter the complete pump nameplate data when ordering repair parts
Remove burrs, nicks, and scratches from non-critical areas with a fine stone or crocus cloth
Has the pump capacity fallen off due to wear on the impeller and casing ring?
Replace the casing ring if the pump capacity has fallen off
Measure the inside diameter of the casing ring
Measure the impeller skirt diameter
Is the inside diameter of the casing ring 0.008" to 0.012" larger than the impeller skirt diameter?
Replace all gaskets, O-rings, and seals during reassembly
Shaft Sleeve Wear Check
Inspection
Inspect shaft sleeves for excessive wear
Replace sleeves that are worn
Use care not to scratch the sleeve surface when removing shaft sleeve (14)
Replace shaft sleeve O-ring (130) at each disassembly
Pump Assembly
Reassembly — Mechanical Seal Type
Ensure replacement electric motor specifications match original
Install O-ring (130) in sleeve (14)
Install deflector and shaft sleeve over shaft ensuring sleeve bottoms on shoulder
Position deflector midway between end of sleeve and grease retainer
Align sleeve slot with key slot of shaft
Lubricate components with appropriate lubricant
Install floating seat in the adapter with lapped surface facing away from adapter shoulder
Apply lubricant to entire surface of shaft sleeve and carefully install adapter
Pump Disassembly
Pump Removal
Obtain a set of spare parts before starting disassembly
Do not reuse gaskets, O-rings, packing rings, or ball bearings
Shut down pump
Disconnect power to the pump driver before starting any repairs
Refer to Bulletin No. 2880549 for the pump removal procedure to follow

Remove any seal piping (tubing) between pump discharge and stuffing box of adapter
Impeller and Casing Ring Wear Check
Inspection / Repair
Monitor pump capacity
Has the pump capacity fallen off due to wear on the impeller and casing ring?
Replace the casing ring if wear is detected
Measure the inside diameter of the casing ring
Examine impeller passages for issues
Inspect mating parts with relative motion, such as casing rings
