Remove hex screws connecting the RS232 Interface port to the Bottom Housing (T71P)

Membrane Switch Replacement

Separate the Top and Bottom Housing

Extract the plastic ribbon cable from the PCB’s Keypad Connector on the T71XW

Remove the protective backing from the new Membrane Switch and position it on the Top Cover

Re-position the Main PCB over its screw holes and tighten the screws

Reconnect the cables removed in previous steps

Re-insert the hex screws connecting the RS232 Interface port to the Bottom Housing on the T71P

Close the Housing and re-insert the four screws

Press the ON/ZERO Off button with the Indicator connected to power

If the display did not appear, check AC input and adapter/cord functionality

Check if the Indicator display indicates Error 8.1.

Remove the mass and check if the display returns to zero.
