Battery Connector Harness Replacement
Preparation
Unplug Indicator from the AC Adapter
Disconnect wires from the terminal block coming from the scale base
Disassembly
Remove the four screws (B2) from the Base (6)
Carefully separate the Top Cover (2) and Base (6)
Battery Connector Removal
Remove the battery connector plug from the right-hand side of the Main PC board
Describe how the locking tab was released
Main Printed Circuit Board Replacement
Preparation
Unplug Indicator from the AC Adapter
Disassembly
Remove the four screws (B2) from the Base (6)
Carefully separate the Top Cover (2) and Base (6)
Disconnect wires from the terminal block coming from the scale base
Remove the four screws (B2) from the Main PC board (3)
Handle the PC board by the edges only
Remove the two screws from the RS232 connector located on the left side of the Base
LCD Replacement
Remove Main Printed Circuit Board
Follow procedure in paragraph 5.3.1
Remove the Main Printed Circuit Board (3) from the Base (6)
Remove Old LCD
Turn the Main Printed Circuit Board (3) over to expose the solder connections
Use a solder remover to remove all solder from the pins on the LCD
Squeeze the LCD support arms on the solder side of the PC board to release it
Carefully remove the LCD
Install New LCD
Power Connector Harness Replacement
Disconnection and Removal
Unplug Indicator from the AC Adapter
Disconnect wires from the terminal block coming from the scale base
Remove the four screws (B2) from the Base (6)
Carefully separate the Top Cover (2) and Base (6)
Unscrew the nut holding the power connector to the Base (6)
Remove the power jack plug and wiring harness (5) from the right-hand side of the Main PC board
Replacement and Reassembly
Replace the Power Connector Harness and install the Power Connector in the Base
Indicator Increasing/Decreasing Load Test
Test Preparation
Ensure the scale base is calibrated to 30 lb capacity.
Verify the scale base is clean and free of any debris.
Load Test Steps
With no mass on the scale base, does the Indicator display 0.000, + 0.002 lb?
Place a 5 lb mass on the scale base. Does the Indicator display 5.000, + 0.002 lb?
Place a 15 lb mass on the scale base. Does the Indicator display 15.000, + 0.006 lb?
Place a 20 lb mass on the scale base. Does the Indicator display 20.000, + 0.006 lb?
Place a 30 lb mass on the scale base. Does the Indicator display 30.000, + 0.010 lb?
