WARNING: Never enter any part of the compactor until the unit has been locked-out and tagged-out.

Lubricate electric motor bearings

Change the hydraulic fluid in the entire system

If existing oil is reused, has it been tested by a laboratory?

Add additives to bring oil back to standards if necessary

Filter the oil through a minimum 6 micron filter before returning to the tank

Clean the hydraulic tank inside with a nonflammable solvent

Ensure the hydraulic tank is thoroughly dried before replacing the oil

Install the cylinders by reversing the removal steps

Ensure the unit is locked-out and tagged-out before starting maintenance

Disconnect the union on the suction side of the pump

Remove the four bolts retaining the suction flange

Lift the filter from the reservoir

Clean the filter element with a soft brush and standard industrial solvent

WARNING: Lock-out and tag-out the unit before entering any part of the compactor.

Check functional operation of controls and options

Verify timers are functioning correctly

Check if all indicator lights are operational

Check hydraulic cylinder for leakage

Inspect internal hoses and connections for leakage

Examine hoses for chafing and wear

Mark the ram front position on the compactor side

Power up the Compactor and run the ram forward 3/4” - 1” and stop

Lock-Out and Tag-Out the compactor

Remove the top cover or side access cover to access the upper actuator

Loosen the actuator screws and slide the actuator back against the rear limit switch arm until the limit switch clicks
