Inspect the relief valve and lift the lever to verify flow

Is the relief valve discharge piped to a safe area?

Check for any signs of corrosion or tampering on the relief valve and discharge line

If the relief valve weeps or will not seat properly, replace the relief valve

Ensure the reason for relief valve weeping is not due to over pressurization from expansion tank waterlogging or undersizing

Turn off the main power to the boiler

Remove the combustion plug and insert the combustion analyzer probe

Turn on the main power to the boiler and activate it

Enter Service Mode using the pinhole button

Are the combustion values within the specified range?

Re-install the combustion plug in the vent connector

Place the boiler back into normal operation

Verify that boiler area is free of any combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids.

Verify that air intake area is free of any contaminants listed in Section 1 of the manual.

If contaminants are present, ensure they are removed or reinstall air and vent lines as per the manual.

Check for any signs of freezing in the boiler, heat exchanger, internal pipes, or pressure relief valves.

If freezing is suspected, shut off power and gas to the appliance and contact the factory for further instructions.

Ensure power to the boiler is turned off before performing any service operation.

Ensure the boiler is not frozen

Shut off power and gas to the appliance if frozen

Contact the factory for further instructions if frozen

Turn off power to the boiler before any service operation

Remove the ignition and flame sense electrodes from the boiler heat exchanger access cover

Remove any deposits accumulated on the ignition/flame sense electrode using sandpaper

Replace electrodes if they cannot be cleaned satisfactorily

Shut off power and gas to the appliance if the boiler may be frozen

Ensure the discharge line is connected to the relief valve

Turn off power to the boiler before any service operation

Inspect the relief valve and lift the lever to verify flow

Verify that the discharge is in a safe area to avoid scald potential

Re-inspection of Safety Relief Valves

Ensure inspection by a licensed plumbing contractor or authorized inspection agency
