DANGER: If this boiler may be frozen, immediately shut off power and gas to the appliance and contact the factory for further instructions.

Inspect flame through observation window.

Is the flame satisfactory at both high fire and low fire?

Turn off boiler and allow boiler to cool down if the flame is unsatisfactory.

Remove the burner and clean it thoroughly using a vacuum cleaner or compressed air.

Ensure not to use compressed air to clean burner if performed inside a building.

Remove the burner, reference FIG. 12-2 below.

When replacing the burner, ensure gasket is in good condition and positioned correctly (FIG. 12-2).

Warning: Electrical shock hazard – Turn off power to the boiler before any service operation on the boiler except as noted otherwise in this instruction manual.

Ensure the boiler is not frozen

Shut off power and gas to the appliance if frozen

Contact the factory for further instructions if frozen

Turn off power to the boiler before any service operation

Inspect boiler ground wire from the heat exchanger access cover to ground terminal strip

Verify all wiring is in good condition and securely attached

Ensure the boiler is not frozen

Check fill water meter for water usage

Is the water usage within 5% of system volume?

If water usage exceeds 5%, check for leaks

Ensure the boiler is inspected annually by a qualified service technician

Perform maintenance and care as designated in Table 12A

Ensure the boiler is not frozen

Shut off power and gas to the appliance if frozen

Contact the factory for further instructions if frozen

Turn off power to the boiler before any service operation

Inspect the boiler annually by a qualified service technician

Perform maintenance as designated in Table 12A

Check the expansion tank type (open, closed, diaphragm, or bladder)

Smell near the floor and around the boiler for gas odorant or any unusual odor

Remove the top access panel and smell the interior of the boiler enclosure for gas odorant or any unusual odor

Is there any indication of a gas leak?

Use an approved leak detection solution to check for leaks

Repair any detected leaks at once
