Inspect flame through observation window

Is the flame satisfactory at both high fire and low fire?

Turn off boiler and allow it to cool down

Clean the burner thoroughly using a vacuum cleaner or compressed air

Ensure gasket is in good condition and positioned correctly when replacing the burner

Ensure the boiler is not frozen

Shut off power and gas to the appliance if frozen

Contact the factory for further instructions if frozen

Turn off power to the boiler before any service operation

Enter the current water usage from the fill water meter

Is the water usage exceeding 5% of the system volume?

Ensure the boiler is not frozen

Shut off power and gas to the appliance if frozen

Contact the factory for further instructions if frozen

Turn off power to the boiler before any service operation

Remove the ignition and flame sense electrodes from the boiler heat exchanger access cover

Remove any deposits accumulated on the ignition/flame sense electrode using sandpaper

Replace electrodes if they cannot be cleaned satisfactorily

Ensure power and gas to the appliance are shut off if the boiler may be frozen.

Confirm that the boiler is not operating if the heat exchanger, internal pipes, or pressure relief valves are frozen.

Verify that electrical power is turned off before any service operation on the boiler.

Verify that boiler area is free of any combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids.

Verify that air intake area is free of any contaminants listed in Section 1 of the manual.

Are there any contaminants present in the boiler intake air vicinity?

Ensure the boiler is not frozen

Shut off power and gas to the appliance if frozen

Contact the factory for further instructions if frozen

Turn off power to the boiler before any service operation

Inspect the boiler annually by a qualified service technician

Perform maintenance as designated in Table 12A

Check the expansion tank type (open, closed, diaphragm, or bladder)
