Ensure no sparks are produced during servicing work

Verify the pump set is not energized before opening

Confirm maintenance work is performed outside potentially explosive atmospheres

Ensure the pump set cannot be started up unintentionally

Verify electrical connections are disconnected before work

Take measures to protect persons and the environment when draining fluids

Decontaminate pumps handling hazardous fluids

Secure the pump set to prevent tipping or falling during assembly/dismantling

Use suitable tools for setting the pump shaft

For motors ≥ 11 kW, lock rotor before adjusting the coupling to prevent rotor from being lifted out of the bearings

Ensure the motor has been mounted on the pump (Refer to Section 7.5.3 Page 43)

Ensure coupling 862 has been fastened with pin 560 and screws 914.01

Lower the coupling 862 to its lowest position, then raise it by 1.5 mm

Verify that no clearances remain between the coupling halves, and fasten the coupling in this position

Ensure only qualified personnel perform work on the pump set

Allow the pump set to cool down to ambient temperature

Use suitable transport devices and lifting equipment for heavy components

Observe all safety instructions and information

Follow motor manufacturer's instructions for any work on the motor

Properly shut down the pump set

Close the shut-off elements in suction and discharge line

Ensure the motor has been removed (Refer to Section 7.4.3 Page 38)

Undo nuts 920.03 and lift off the drive lantern

Remove mechanical seal 433 and O-rings 412.01

Ensure the motor has been removed (Refer to Section 7.4.3 Page 38)

Undo hexagon socket head cap screws 914.03

Remove the mechanical seal 433 using tool 969

DANGER — Excessive Temperatures

Check the condition of the lubricant regularly

Check the rolling element bearings for running noises regularly

Use 15 grams of grease per bearing

Is the pump design lubricated for life?

Does the motor have a lubricating nipple?

Re-lubricate motors with lubricating nipple every 2000 hours
