Are grease fittings provided on the motor?

Is the motor temperature below 104ºF (40ºC)?

Lubricate the motor according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

Use extended grease lines for direct drive systems.

Was the motor lubricated successfully?

Describe any issues encountered during lubrication.

Check for wear, tension, alignment, and dirt accumulation on V-belt drives

Are the sheaves free from grooves or wear?

Are all belts being replaced with a matched set?

Loosen belt tension to remove belts without prying

Ensure slack in each belt is on the same side of the drive after replacement

Measure belt deflection halfway between sheave centers (in inches)

Check all fasteners and set screws for tightness

Rotate the fan wheel by hand to ensure no parts are rubbing

Access the wheel through the bolted panel on the side of the fan housing

Ensure proper wheel settings for radial gap and alignment

Refer to Radial Gap, Overlap and Wheel Alignment section on page 11 for guidance

Ensure the unit is attached to the designed system

Is the wheel rotation in the same direction as the airflow at the outlet?

Does the wheel rotation conform to the rotation decal affixed to the unit?

Describe any issues noted during the check

Ensure the fan is turned off and locked out before starting lubrication

Verify that the lubricant is a high quality lithium complex grease conforming to NLGI Grade 2

Check for unusual conditions such as temperatures below 32°F (0° C) or above 200°F (93° C), moisture, or contaminants

Start the fan to rotate the shaft

Add lubricant until clean grease is seen purging from the bearing

Is the bearing visible to observe purged grease?

Enter the number of shots of grease applied if bearing is not visible
