Is the wheel clean and free of grease or dirt accumulation?

Clean the wheel if it is dirty or grease-laden.

Check all fasteners for tightness

Is the wheel balanced after cleaning?

Are all fasteners securely tightened?

Is the storage environment humid, dusty, or corrosive?

Rotate the fan and purge the bearings if necessary

Ensure fan is protected against damage during storage

Verify precautions are taken to prevent deterioration during storage

Purge grease before putting fan into service

Ensure power source is locked out before starting work.

Verify that belts and pulleys have been loosened and removed.

Confirm extended lubrication lines are disconnected at the bearing.

Read and follow all instructions carefully.

Ensure driven sheaves and belts have been removed.

Remove shaft black coating with a solvent similar to brake/carburetor cleaner.

Scribe a line around the shaft by both bearings and around the bearing base to the bearing support or write down the measurement from the end of the shaft to the bearings.

Ensure the unit is not capable of operation during repairs

Verify if the motor has grease fittings

Is the motor temperature below 104ºF (40ºC)?

Replace grease according to manufacturer's recommendations
