Is the fan stored in a humid, dusty, or corrosive atmosphere?

Check precautions to prevent deterioration during storage

Ensure motor and drive shafts are parallel

Is the adjustable motor pulley set for the specified fan RPM?

Enter the number of turns for adjusting the multigroove variable pitch pulleys

Was the fan RPM adjusted correctly?

Verify the following for proper alignment

Ensure power source is locked out before starting work.

Verify that belts and pulleys have been loosened and removed.

Confirm extended lubrication lines are disconnected at the bearing.

Read and follow all instructions carefully.

Ensure driven sheaves and belts have been removed.

Remove shaft black coating with a solvent similar to brake/carburetor cleaner.

Scribe a line around the shaft by both bearings and around the bearing base to the bearing support or write down the measurement from the end of the shaft to the bearings.

Loosen the inlet cone/ring bolts

Center the cone/ring on the wheel

Is additional adjustment required to maintain a constant radial gap?

Loosen the bearing bolts and center the wheel if necessary

Loosen the wheel hub from the shaft

Move the wheel to the desired position along the shaft

Check for a smooth transition between the inlet cone and wheel

Ensure the unit is not capable of operation during repairs

Is the motor equipped with grease fittings?

Record the current motor temperature

Is the motor temperature below 104ºF (40ºC)?

Replace grease according to manufacturer’s recommendations
