Ensure the fan is turned off and locked out for safety.

Gather necessary tools and materials, including high quality lithium complex grease conforming to NLGI Grade 2.

Add lubricant until clean grease is seen purging from the bearing.

Are there unusual conditions present?

If unusual conditions are present, describe them.

Ensure the unit is attached to the designed system

Momentarily energize the unit to check wheel rotation

Is the wheel rotation in the same direction as the airflow at the outlet?

Does the wheel rotation conform to the rotation decal affixed to the unit?

Describe any issues noted during the check

Is the fan stored in a humid, dusty, or corrosive atmosphere?

Is the fan stored properly to prevent deterioration?

Was the fan run for the required duration?

Was the fan bumped if not run continuously?

Have you consulted the manufacturer for changes in operating conditions?

Check for any visible issues with the fan components

Inspect for unusual noises during operation

Check for vibrations during operation

Inspect fans for moisture or dirt accumulations

Locate and eliminate source of moisture or dirt if found

Is there any paint deterioration?

Consider touch-up or repainting if paint deterioration is found
