2000 Hourly Turntable Rotation Gear Backlash Check
Warning: This procedure does not apply to the Z-60/80 models
Perform this procedure with the machine fully stowed and the counterweight at the square end of the machine
Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm, level surface that is free of obstructions
Is the boom centered between the circle end wheels?
Did you apply approximately 20 lbs / 89 N of side force to the platform, moving the platform to one side as far as it will go?
Enter the gap between the swing hub pinion gear and the turntable rotation bearing at the center tooth on one of the drive hubs
Select the model of the machine
Is the backlash within tolerance?
If the backlash needs to be adjusted, refer to Repair Procedure in the appropriate Service and Repair Manual for your machine, How to Adjust the Turntable Rotation Gear Backlash
1 Yearly Turntable Bearing Inspection
Warning: Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm, level surface with the boom in the stowed position.
Grease the turntable bearing
Torque the turntable bearing bolts to specification
Raise the boom to full height using the ground controls
Place a dial indicator between the drive chassis and the turntable
Adjust the dial indicator needle to the 'zero' position
Lower the boom to a horizontal position and fully extend the boom
Enter the reading on the dial indicator

Proper use of the free-wheel configuration is essential to safe machine operation. The free-wheel configuration is used primarily for towing. A machine configured to free-wheel without operator knowledge may cause death or serious injury and property damage
Models with 2 wheel steer will be referenced with Non-steer and steer wheels
Models with 4 wheel steer will be referenced with Circle-end and Square-end wheels
WARNING!
Collision hazard. Select a work site that is firm and level
NOTICE:
Component damage hazard. If the machine must be towed, do not exceed 2 mph / 3.2 km/h
Non-steer or Circle-end wheels:
3 Monthly Drive Speed ALC1000 Test
