2000 Hourly Boom Wear Pads Check
- Check the Boom Wear Pads
Maintaining the boom wear pads in good condition is essential to safe machine operation. Wear pads are placed on boom tube surfaces to provide a low friction, replaceable wear pad between moving parts. Improperly shimmed wear pads or continued use of extremely worn wear pads may result in component damage and unsafe operating conditions
1. Measure each wear pad. Replace the wear pad once it reaches the minimum allowable thickness. If the wear pad is still within specification, shim as necessary to obtain minimum clearance with zero binding
2. Extend and retract the boom through the entire range of motion to check for tight spots that may cause binding or scraping of the boom
Note: Always maintain squareness between the outer and inner boom tubes
SX-150 / SX-180;
3. Grease the platform end bottom wear pads with a suitable lubricant
SX-150: Grease the #1 and #2 boom tubes
SX-180: Grease the #0 and #1 boom tubes
2000 Hourly Turntable Rotation Gear Backlash Check
Warning: This procedure is for ALC1000 Models only. It does not apply to the Z-60/80 models.
Perform this procedure with the machine fully stowed and the counterweight at the square end of the machine.
Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm, level surface that is free of obstructions.
Is the boom centered between the circle end wheels?
Apply approximately 20 lbs / 89 N of side force to the platform, moving the platform to one side as far as it will go.
Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the swing hub pinion gear and the turntable rotation bearing at the center tooth on one of the drive hubs.
Select the model of the machine
Is the gap within the tolerance for the selected model?
If the gap is not within tolerance, refer to Repair Procedure in the appropriate Service and Repair Manual for your machine, How to Adjust the Turntable Rotation Gear Backlash.
250 Hourly Deutz Engine Maintanance
- Check Oil level
- Check Coolant level
- Inspect/drain Oil, fuel and coolant systems - check for leaks Fuel system filter/water separator
- Clean Air filter discharge valve
- Inspect Exhaust system
- Check / clean the oil cooler and cooling fins - Deutz D2011 and D436 Models
- Replace Engine oil and filter
- Replace Air filter

3 Monthly Generator Belts Inspection
WARNING! Bodily injury hazard. Do not inspect while the engine is running. Remove the key to secure from operation
CAUTION! Bodily injury hazard. Beware of hot engine components. Contact with hot engine components may cause severe burns
Note: Charging the batteries with the engine does not fully charge the batteries. Periodically, use the AC battery charger to fully charge the batteries
All fasteners and cables on the generator are tight
Engine flywheel cover mounting fasteners removed
Pulley mounting fasteners are tight and pulleys show no signs of damage or unusual wear
Engine pulley and the generator pulley are aligned within specification using a straightedge
Pulley alignment, maximum offset: 0.0625 inch / 1.58 mm
Inspect the generator belts for
1 Yearly Turntable Bearing Inspection
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm, level surface with the boom in the stowed position
Grease the turntable bearing
Torque the turntable bearing bolts to specification
Raise the boom to full height using the ground controls. Do not extend the boom
Place a dial indicator between the drive chassis and the turntable at a point that is directly under, or inline with, the boom and no more than 1 inch / 2.5 cm from the bearing
Adjust the dial indicator needle to the 'zero' position
Lower the boom to a horizontal position and fully extend the boom
Reading on the dial indicator
