Record external housing temperature

Clean and remove vent plug [6521]

Fill constant level oiler bottle

6.1 Maintenance schedule / 4.8 Final shaft alignment check

Check coupling alignment and re-align if necessary.

Operate the pump for at least an hour or until it reaches final operating temperature.

Shut the pump down and recheck alignment while the pump is hot.

Did piping thermal expansion change the alignment?

Enter the parallel misalignment measurement (mm).

Enter the angular misalignment measurement (mm/mm).

Is the parallel misalignment within 0.05 mm (0.002 in.)?

Check dirt and dust is removed from areas around close clearances, bearing housings and motors

In dirty or dusty environments, ensure regular checks and removal of dirt from areas around close clearances, bearing housings and motors

Check for oil and grease leaks that may make the ground slippery

Clean the ground and the exterior of the machine at the beginning and end of maintenance

Pre-Lubrication Safety Measures

Stop the pump and lock the motor

Measure the external housing temperature

Is the external housing temperature below 94°C (200°F)?

Remove the pipe plug from bearing locations

Enter the amount of grease for Group 2 inboard bearing (cm³)

Is the bearing housing operating temperature under 71°C (160°F)?

Is the external housing temperature below 94°C (200°F)?

Remove the pipe plug from the following bearing locations

Enter the amount of grease for Group 2 inboard bearing (cm³)

Enter the amount of grease for Group 2 outboard bearing (cm³)
