Recommended Grease Fill Quantities
Select the frame for lubrication
Enter re-lubrication quantity for Line Bearing (g)
Enter re-lubrication quantity for Thrust Bearing (g)
Grease Lubrication Procedure
Connect grease gun to the nipple
Press grease into the bearing housing until the first signs of it appear in the gap between the housing and shaft
Record the operating temperature of the bearing housing (°C)
Is the temperature rise above ambient within 55 °C (131 °F)?

Refer to section 1.6, Safety, before dismantling the pump
Ensure genuine Flowserve replacement parts are available
Refer to sectional drawings purchased for part reference numbers

Isolate motor and lock off electrical supply in accordance with local regulations
Isolate suction and discharge valves
Remove coupling guards and disconnect the coupling halves
Drain pump casing and remove any auxiliary piping if applicable

Ensure no adjustment is made to the mechanical seal.
Is there any initial leakage from the mechanical seal?
Run in the pump mechanical seal using clean liquid before pumping dirty liquids, if possible.
Is the external flush or quench started before the pump is run?
Is the external flush or quench allowed to flow for a period after the pump has stopped?
Ensure the mechanical seal is not run dry, even for a short time.

Do the sleeve diameter and stuffing box bore dimensions agree with the seal installation drawing?
