Remove soot deposits as mentioned in section 3.3

Clean the furnace outer surface with a damp cloth

Ensure no water enters the interior of the case or chamber

Avoid cleaning with organic solvents

Check if the controller and/or thermocouple require recalibration after prolonged use

Perform a quick check using an independent thermocouple and temperature indicator

Record findings from the independent thermocouple and temperature indicator check

Disconnect the furnace from the supply

Solid-state Relay Disconnection

Make a note of how the wires are connected to the solid state relay

Disconnect the wires from the solid state relay

Remove the solid state relay from the base panel or aluminium plate

Is the power limit parameter OP.Hi accessible to the operator?

Is the current power limit set to zero for demonstration purposes?

Ensure the power limit is not set higher than the design level.

Reset the power limit to its standard value if it was set to zero.

Is the power limit set to 100% over all common voltages?

Has the power limit been adjusted according to section 8.2 guidelines?

Disconnect the furnace from the supply

Note the thermocouple connections

Verify thermocouple color coding

Disconnect the thermocouple from its terminal block

Make a plan of all the internal connections to the back of the heating chamber

Disconnect all internal connections

Remove the thermocouple(s) and support tube(s)
