Fuse Replacement
Preparation
Consult the circuit diagram (section 7.0) to identify fuse types.
Refer to section 8.1 for the list of correct fuses.
Fuse Inspection and Replacement
Identify and check the following fuses for failure
Has any fuse failed?
If a fuse has failed, has an electrician checked the internal circuits?
Replace any failed fuses with the correct type.
Have you consulted Carbolite before fitting larger capacity fuses?
Solid-state Relay Replacement
Preparation
Disconnect the furnace from the supply
Remove the furnace back panel
Solid-state Relay Disconnection
Make a note of how the wires are connected to the solid state relay
Disconnect the wires from the solid state relay
Solid-state Relay Removal
Remove the solid state relay from the base panel or aluminium plate
Solid-state Relay Replacement
Door Plug Replacement
Preparation
Lift the furnace door to the open position
Remove the door cover from the plug carrier assembly
Plug Replacement
Remove the old door plug by sliding it upwards out of its carrier
Slide the new plug into the carrier assembly ensuring correct orientation
Refit the door cover
Post-Replacement Check
Ensure that the ventilation is good when first heating the furnace after replacement
Temperature Controller Replacement
Preparation
Wear an anti-static wrist strap
Avoid any possibility of damage by static electricity
Controller Removal
Separate the controller from the base by removing screws
Ease apart the two lugs at the side
Grip the instrument and withdraw it from its sleeve
Controller Installation
Push in the replacement controller

Pre-Adjustment Checks
Is the power limit parameter OP.Hi accessible to the operator?
Is the current power limit set to zero for demonstration purposes?
Power Adjustment
Ensure the power limit is not set higher than the design level.
Adjust the power limit to its standard value if it was set to zero.
Post-Adjustment Verification
Is the power limit set to 100% over all common voltages?
Has the power limit been adjusted according to section 8.2 guidelines?
